Small Business Recovery Grant Program – The City of Pittsfield is pleased to announce that it has received the second round of a Covid-19 Small Business Recovery Grant from the CDBG (Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant) program.

The purpose of the grant is to provide funding to low and medium income entrepreneurs (LMIs) whose businesses have experienced significant business disruption due to the impact of Covid-19. This funding is intended to help businesses stay open (if they can stay open according to government guidelines) and operate their businesses during the pandemic. Grant funds help small businesses in Pittsfield cover wages, rent, lost inventory and other fixed costs. Grants of up to $10,000 are awarded to eligible businesses.

Funding will focus on micro-businesses and Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), women, veteran and LGBTQIA-owned businesses to reach our city’s most vulnerable businesses.

The purpose of this grant is to help businesses stay open during Covid-19. The following uses are permitted:

The Community Development Department administers the program by accepting applications, determining eligibility, preparing the grant agreement, and disbursing funds. At the Department’s request, the Pittsfield Economic Revitalization Corporation (PERC) reviews applications and makes funding recommendations to the Department.
