This current study is among the few studies, which seek the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational development in apparel business firms. This research focuses on examining how organizational learning moderates the relationship between knowledge management and organizational sustainability. This research confirms that knowledge management and organizational innovation processes are part of organizational development. The data obtained for this population reported on the clothing companies, which carry out their business in Lahore and Gujranwala. The study used a random sampling method to collect data and used structural modeling (SEM) to examine the hypothesized relationships. The results show that knowledge management shows a positive relationship with organizational learning, which in turn shows a positive relationship with the sustainable development of organizations in SMEs of the clothing industry. The results of the study also showed that organizational learning moderates the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational development. This research study identifies the importance of knowledge management and organizational learning in the implementation of organizational innovation, and helps business managers understand organizational learning as a mediator, which shows the benefits of knowledge management in achieving sustainable organizational development. This review provides a conceptual overview of original data to examine the relationship between knowledge management, sustainable innovation processes and organizational learning cultures in the apparel sector of Pakistan. In the midst of the hardships, tourism businesses were given a lot of attention. In the context of the novel coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19), this study examines how psychological capital (self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience) affects organizational resilience. Using structural modeling (AMOS 21.0), 644 small tourism business owners in Malaysia were randomly selected to investigate the relationship between high psychological health and organizational resilience, and the effects of ‘mediation of coping strategies and focused on this relationship. The results of the study support the hypothesized relationship, as the psychological capital of small tourism companies in Malaysia has a significant impact on organizational resilience. In addition, the study found that problem-focused coping strategies have a mediated effect on the relationship between psychological capital and organizational resilience. In the context of the small sector of the tourism industry, the research has implications, as companies find a way to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several epidemics, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in 2003, influenza A (H1N1) in 2009, Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) in 2012, and Ebola in 2014 ( Zeng et al., 2005; Lee et al., 2012; Novelli et al., 2018), have affected the tourism industry significantly in the last two years, because travel can aggravate the -health problems and it is better to avoid. In the tourism sector, there have been many studies on health problems and tourism disaster management (Pforr and Hosie, 2008; Jamal and Budke, 2020). The main concern of previous research is how tourists and income generation due to the impact of the epidemic. However, very little study has been done on how owners/managers of small tourism firms can develop psychological capital to help their business recover quickly during or after a crisis (Pathak and Joshi, 2020). According to Prayag et al. (2020), understanding the impact of high-level thinking and organizational resilience becomes important, as both concepts are of particular importance for organizations facing any type of restructuring. In addition, Luthans (2002) stated that the continuity and sustainability of the organization is more dependent on the owners/managers in this period of uncertainty. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the psychological capital of tourism owners/managers on organizational resilience during the COVID-19 crisis. According to Luthans (2002), emotional capital is defined as “the positive mental state of a person’s development” as reflected in four dimensions: self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience. Pathak and Joshi (2020) defined organizational resilience as “the perceived ability of the organization to overcome disruption and embrace change.”

The disaster management literature highlights the problems that individuals and businesses face after a disaster. Businesses must find new strategies to adapt to climate change (Andersson and Keskitalo, 2018). According to Lazarus and Folkman (1984), a coping strategy is an action, a series of actions, or a thought process that is used to deal with a stressful or unpleasant situation or to change a person’s behavior towards it. In contrast to the defensive approach, coping strategies are generally targeted and problem-directed (Abbas et al., 2020). The importance of emotional capital in coping strategies and recovery from difficult situations is highlighted in the study. In terms of coping strategies, the current literature supports the idea of ​​”person” over “business”. Another major gap in previous research is how coping strategies help build resilience in small-scale tourism firms.
