No Small Relief: Strengthening Nyc’s Most Vulnerable Small Businesses
The New York City Department of Small Business will provide grants of up to $5,000 to restaurants with annual revenue of $1 million or less, which can be used to replace propane heaters with electric or gas. As part of the Elevate Nightlife Mental Health Initiative, people who work in the New York City nightlife industry can participate in a free and confidential weekly mental health support group led by licensed Backline Care therapists. is scheduled every Monday at 4:00 p.m.
Key to NYC requires indoor entertainment and recreation, indoor dining and indoor gyms to screen employees and customers 12 years of age and older for proof that they have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine. This program is a partnership between many major agencies including SBS, Department of Buildings (DOB), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY). New York State’s $800 million Small Business Recovery Assistance Program to small businesses (including small qualified and traditionally for-profit businesses) experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Variable grants of up to $50,000 can be used for operating expenses, including salaries, rent or mortgage payments, taxes, utilities, personal protective equipment or other business expenses during this illness. New York State’s COVID-related eviction moratorium is in effect until January 15, 2022. Under the new law, all Tenant Safe Harbor Act protections for tenants who are experiencing financial hardship due to this illness. will remain in effect, along with new protections and trade exclusions.
