Beginning tomorrow, July 14th, Manatee County small businesses can apply for a one-time $5,000 grant to support business continuity by ensuring small businesses can safely reopen through the Manatee Safety First Small Business Grant Program.

Funding is available for small businesses experiencing business loss due to COVID-19. Small businesses with 15 or fewer employees and located in counties and cities including Bradenton, Palmetto, Holmes Beach, Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach and Longboat Key can apply for one-time grants of up to $5,000.

To receive this grant, a business must meet the requirements outlined below and then submit an online application to the Department of Development and Economic Opportunity.

The recovery grant is intended to help Manatee County’s small businesses, under the Governor’s Order of Home Rulers.

The Safety First Small Business Grant Program pays $5,000 for sanitation and safety supplies, PPE, signs, outdoor seating and other items to ensure clean business practices. This grant is available only to active, private businesses located in Manatee County with 500 or fewer employees not funded through this program. Business applications close on March 19 or after 250 applications.

The Mortgage Assistance Program helps homeowners who fall behind on their mortgages due to the pandemic. Applications for MAP close on March 29 or after 75 applications have been received.

It is already available to tenants through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA), which provides funds to those unable to pay their rent due to the economic impact of the pandemic.
