Small Business Grants: Here Are 23 You Can Apply For In 2022
All women-owned businesses are encouraged to apply, but judges will focus on businesses that have scaled their business in response to the pandemic, are managed by New Majority owners and provide important community services .
If selected, you will receive an award of $10,000. Anyone who requests access gets free access to thousands of curated resources. Plus, they join a community of over 600,000 small business owners at Hello Alice.
Hundreds of small business owners have already been designated as recipients of points 1-6 of the program. From healthcare providers to sports clubs and children’s comics, these recipients use the funds to advance their missions and serve their communities.
Lesia Daniel, owner of Funtime Preschool in Clinton, Mississippi, says she will use the $10,000 to help parents seeking child care during the ongoing pandemic.

“Funtime offers quality and sensitive early care and education, as well as after-school care,” says Daniel. “This donation will help families who are forced to self-quarantine due to a positive case of COVID or exposure to COVID.”

In the latest round, KKR’s relief effort awarded $10,000 each to 52 small business owners and nearly $3.5 million to 22 nonprofit organizations.
Of the beneficiaries, 52% are women, 56% are minorities and 23% are veterans or family members.

The KKR program “aims to significantly help those most affected by the pandemic,” Ali Hartman, director, head of global citizenship, said in a December blog post when the program made its first round of donations. The program aims to support KKR’s portfolio company employees, inspire KKR employees to be responsible for change, support small businesses around the world and partner with non-profit organizations profit, said Ms. Hartman.
Business owners honored in the latest round include Austin Blose, CEO of New Bethlehem, Pa.-based Zack’s Farm to Table restaurant. Bob Burke, owner of Pot au Feu restaurant in Providence, R.I.; Gina Mariko Rosales, owner of event planning company Make it Mariko and Shana Murad, owner of convenience store D’s Market in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Among the non-profit organizations awarded this time were Aide et Espoir aux Refugies – Aid and Hope, Lauzerte, France and the North Texas Food Bank in Plano. Vivian Ross, owner of Elephant in the Room Consulting Services in Augusta, Georgia, says she will use the $10,000 to create jobs and adapt her offerings to better serve clients.

“I started my own private practice because, working at other agencies, I saw that people of color were rarely coming in to seek counseling services,” says Ross. “I wanted to provide a safe place for everyone to get the mental health counseling they need. The role I play in my community is to help others in any way I can to teach everyone how to live healthier. [This $10,000 grant dollars will allow us] to continue to pay our staff, for marketing, and to create a new case management position so that we can actually go into homes to provide services to children.
