According to Business News Daily, a common barrier to financial success for small business owners is limited or inconsistent cash flow—without proper strategies to manage the tax aspect of running a business, owners can struggle to maintain key components of their business. Frégi Amos believes that pairing dynamic, driven entrepreneurs with NBCC’s funding and guidance early on will help steer his business acumen in a positive direction for years to come. Lack of or access to resources has historically plagued black communities in their quest for economic and social mobility, further underscoring the importance of Amos’ celebrity partnership with the nonprofit.
“The National Black Chamber of Commerce is proud to once again work with the legendary Amos to support select grantees and help bring funding and guidance to business owners who truly need it,” said Charles H. DeBow, III, managing director, National. The Black Chamber of Commerce. “Our mission is to economically strengthen and sustain African-American communities through entrepreneurship, and one of the most important ways we carry out our continued vision for the growth and development of black businesses is through programs like the Ingredients for Success initiative.” This program removes challenging barriers, and its timing could not have been better as our nation’s economy is still stabilizing after unprecedented years.
The grant applications were judged by some of the nation’s top black business leaders, including Roby Mercharles, vice president of partnerships at The American Dream Fund & Marketplace; Mandy Bowman, CEO of Black Wall Street; Nancey Harris and Tracy Green, CEOs of Vontelle, LLC; and Steve Canal, CEO of Flourish.
Eligible businesses had to be at least 90% black-owned and in operation for five years or less at the time of application. For more information about the program, please visit FamousAmosIngredientsForSuccess.info.
Ingredients For Success Initiative
The story of the famous Amos began in 1975 in a bakery on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California. Inspired by a family recipe, founder Wally Amos perfected the perfect chocolate chip cookie. He used only the best ingredients to make his cookies. This delicious homemade signature helped them gain fame just by word of mouth. From there, the story of the famous Amos becomes a Hollywood success story. Iconic musicians and other Hollywood celebrities began singing the praises of the delicious cookies from the small bakery on Sunset.
This was only the beginning of the story of the famous Amos. It has always been a core belief at Wally Amos that you make tastier cookies if you use high-quality ingredients. While this never changed, it did what customers were looking for in a cookie. They wanted fewer ingredients and internationally inspired recipes. So we set out to find the ingredients from the most famous places in the world and bring cookies back to fame. That brings us to today and we hope you enjoy our new famous Amos Wonder From The World™.
