Arkansas Grants For Small Business Covid-19 – In April 2020, Main Street America released The Impact of COVID-19 on Small Businesses: Findings from the Main Street America Small Business Survey. Main Street Arkansas has been able to analyze the data and the impact of COVID-19 on Arkansas small businesses. This data comes directly from more than 200 Arkansas small business owners in 11 counties, and the results are good.

Of the 213 Arkansas small businesses surveyed, more than 60 percent indicated that their business is at risk of closing permanently in the next five months. More than half of Arkansas respondents saw a more than 75 percent drop in income in the first months of the crisis. Ninety-two percent of small business respondents have 20 or fewer employees.

The survey also revealed critical gaps in technical assistance and stimulus funding to address revenue barriers for our nation’s smallest businesses. Registration for the Small Business Administration’s restaurant renovation grant is now open. Eligible businesses can apply by Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11:00 am. Although there is a priority period for this program, all eligible businesses are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as the application portal is open. The US Small Business Administration will begin registration on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. CST and applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund will open on Monday, May 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. CST. Applications will remain open for eligible restaurants until all funds are exhausted.

Coronavirus Relief Grant Keeps Arkansas Small Business Open

In preparation, the SBA recommends that qualified applicants familiarize themselves with the application process in advance to ensure a smooth and efficient application experience, specifically:

For the first 21 days the program is open, SBA will prioritize funding applications from businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. All eligible candidates are encouraged to submit applications as soon as the portal opens. After 21 days, all eligible applications will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis.

April 12, 2021 Update: The SBA Facility Operator Grant application website has closed due to a technical error.

The Shuttered Venue Operator Grant Program has been discontinued due to technical and website errors. The SBA expects the application portal to reopen the week of April 18, 2021. Applicants can continue to register for an Application Portal account by clicking here.

SBA Announces Restaurant Recovery Fund Applicants No Longer Need to Register for a SAM.gov Account or Hold a DUNS Number

The SBA announced that applicants for the upcoming Restaurant Revitalization Fund, which is expected to open in early April, do not need to register for a SAM account or have a DUNS number to apply. The Independent Restaurant Coalition updated its guide on the program here.

Today, the People’s Party Expansion Act 2021 was approved in the Senate with 7-92 votes. President Biden is expected to sign the extension into law, leaving the program open until May 31, 2021.

Today the US Small Business Administration announced that they have increased the maximum amount small businesses and nonprofits can borrow through the EIDL program. Beginning April 6, 2021, the SBA will increase the loan limit for the COVID-19 EIDL program from 6 months with a maximum of $150,000 to 24 months with a maximum of $500,000. March 11, 2021 UpdateUrgent: The SBA Paycheck Protection Program is set to expire on March 31, 2021, despite additional funding under the American Rescue Plan.

The deadline to get an SBA loan number for the Paycheck Protection Program is Wednesday, March 31st. New applications must be submitted by your lender by March 22nd to allow time for processing. However, a bill to extend the program through May 31, 2021, currently being considered by Congress, is not guaranteed to pass. Businesses interested in using the Payment Protection Program for the first draw or second draw are encouraged to contact their local financial institution as soon as possible.
